Carlins are smart and, like all smart dogs, they need to be mentally stimulated or they get bored. Boredom quickly leads to destructive behaviors such as chewing, digging, and nuisance barking.
The Carlin Pinscher is a cross between the Miniature Pinscher and the Pug. The breed was originally called the Pug-Pin. The name “Carlin' came from the Pug because several countries continue to refer to the Pug as the “Carlin'.

The Pug is a toy breed that originated in China. Pugs are known for their sparkling personalities, and as with most toy breeds, they make good house dogs.
In 1887, when Erl Laneleyl gave his bride lady Carlin a charming Chow Chow puppy, this breed became the subject of interest in the highest English aristocratic society.
The Pugs popularity spread throughout Europe, with the breed referred to in France as the Carlin, in Spain as the Dogullo, at the same time, they were Mops in Germany and the Caganlino in Italy.
The Pug is also known as Mops, or Carlin.
The Pug is miserable in hot conditions and care should be taken not to overheat them.
The Pug was brought to Holland from China four hundred years ago and was later perfected in England.
