The Chinese Imperial Dog is a wonderful pet and family companion. They are spunky, cheerful, and playful, and they are very loving and affectionate. They are intelligent and social, and they are trusting of most people.
In the grand tradition of all pure-bred dogs, the Chinese Imperial Dog evolved from another breed; in this case it was the Imperial Shih Tzu. They weighed around 3 to 7 pounds and were perfect little lap dogs.
