Does the dog have diarrhea or constipation, and if so, why? These problems, if present, must be corrected. Many cases of rectal prolapse can be manually replaced.

DIGESTIVE SYSTEM UPSETS - Diarrhea (foul smelling); foul breath odor; vomiting; pain on defecation or when palpating the abdomen; cramps; constipation; blood or mucous in feces or vomitus.

Their digestive system may not work properly all the time, so be ready for some problems with the appetite, diarrhea or - in the opposite - constipation.

Icteric disease: Leptospires may be isolated from the blood for 24-48 hours after jaundice appears. Abdominal pain with diarrhea or constipation (30%), hepatosplenomegaly, nausea, vomiting, and anorexia also are seen.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin lubricate joints easing the pain of arthritis. A diet high in fiber controls constipation. Without these nagging pains older dogs are able to get the exercise they need in order to stay healthy.

Skin and coat: Some Chinooks can develop dry, itchy skin or hot spots.
Gastrointestinal issues: Some Chinooks may develop chronic gastrointestinal problems such as diarrhea, constipation, or vomiting.

Dry dog food in moderation, without plenty of water it causes constipation and may do anyway.
Train your dog, it helps let them know where they fit in your "pack" and makes things easier for you when outside the yard with them.
