The Danish Broholmer is a large, powerful mastiff-type dog with a strong, sturdy build. Their bodies are rectangular in proportion, and their brawny forequarters dominate their overall appearance. They have a broad, massive head and a robust neck.
The Broholmer, also called the Danish Broholmer, is a molosser breed of dog from Denmark, recognized by the Danish Kennel Club and the Fédération Cynologique Internationale.
The Danish Broholmer originated in Denmark. As a type this breed has been known since the Middle Ages, when it was used for hunting (stag-hunting). Later on it was used mainly as a guard dog for large farms and manors.
Temperament: Danish Broholmer or Danish Mastiff is a large, threatening, distrustful and fearless dog, although very loyal and easy to train.
