Canine dry eye, or keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), is a common eye ailment in dogs. Dry eye is a reduction in natural tear production causing drying and inflammation of the cornea.

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) is the technical term for a condition also known as 'dry eye.' Inadequate tear production is the cause. This may be due to injuries to the tear glands, such as infections or trauma.

Dry Eye: Keratoconjunctivitis sicca and pigmentary keratitis are two conditions seen in Pugs. They can occur at the same time, or individually. Dry eye is caused when the eyes don't produce enough tears to stay moist.

They are prone to eye problems such as Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eyes), cataracts, and entropion. They sometimes get cysts or cancerous growths in their skin, but these are rarely malignant.

Dry eye, tear duct disorders and cataracts that can appear in young adulthood and often lead to blindness are also common.

Also cataracts, dry eyes, and entropion. They tend to drool, wheeze and snore. They are known for swallowing foreign objects so take care. Tends to gain weight easily, do not over feed. Clumbers may be prone to flea and skin allergies.

Some minor issues that can also develop in Beagles are cherry eye, glaucoma, KCS which is a form of dry eye disease and an overactive thyroid.

Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS, dry eye) is a condition resulting from lack of tear production. The problem may be congential or induced by a number of conditions. Veterinary treatment is required and condition may be chronic.

Cataracts, dry eyes, skin allergies, flea allergies, and/or entropion are sometimes present. This breed has a tendency to drool, snore, and wheeze. They are also known to put on weight and swallow foreign objects.
