The Hygenhun is a breed of dog of Norwegian origin. It is so called because it was developed by a breeder by the name of Hygen.

The breed was created in the late 1800s in Norway from the interbreeding of many different types of hounds to produce an endurance hunter that could run over the arctic ground without fatigue for long periods of time.
