(Japanese Shiba Inu, Japanese Small Size Dog, Shiba, Shiba Dog) The Shiba Inu is a medium sized, arctic-like dog. Their small, round heads end in short, square muzzle.

The Japanese Shiba Inu (shee-ba ee-new) is conveniently-sized, athletic and agile, easy to groom, easy to housebreak, loyal, and makes a keen watchdog without being yappy.

Much like Akita, only smaller, the Japanese Shiba Inu has 35 to 41 cm and 8 to 10 kg. The body structure of the Shiba Inu is similar to Akita´s, since they both have hooked ears, curled tail, deep chest and compact and muscled body.
