The breed is a terrier that was developed in Maharashtra, India to hunt hare and vermin. The slender Kaikadi is said to resemble the Whippet in appearance but with a straight top-line.
KAIKADI is a breed also common with the Japanese people. It is used mostly as a livestock guardian. It is used in herding sheep and as a guard.
