Miniature Australian Shepherds are a hardy and rustic breed-a little longer than tall. They have slightly rounded heads, medium-length muzzles and almond-shaped eyes.

Miniature Australian Shepherds are eager to work, which makes training and interacting with them a pleasure, but their intelligence and drive require obedience training and plenty of interesting activity.

Miniature Australian Shepherds are intelligent energetic dogs that love to keep busy. This characteristic makes them easy to train as they perceive even learning a new trick as activity.

The Miniature Australian Shepherd is exactly as its name implies: a small Aussie. Miniature Australian Shepherds can sometimes get by with less physical exercise than their full-size brothers, but need just as much mental stimulation.

An Aussiedoodle is a Poodle hybrid that is a cross-breed of a Poodle and also a Miniature Australian Shepherd and may demonstrate any mixture of traits from those two breeds. Poodle hybrids have turn out to be very preferred in the past few years.

The miniature Australian Shepherd is around 14-18 inches high and around 20-40 pounds in weight. The miniature Australian Shepherd is simply a smaller version of the standard, and has all of the same personality and physical traits.

You may see advertisements for dogs called teacup, toy, or miniature Australian Shepherds. Australian Shepherd breeders don't recognize these dogs as true Australian Shepherds.

Recently there was bred a smaller "version" of this popular breed - the Miniature Australian Shepherd.
