The Mountain View Cur resembles a hound. They run from a light blond to a rich dark yellow in color, although some are brindle, all black, or black and brindle. Almost all will have white points on their chest, feet, and/or muzzle.
The Mountain View Cur was developed by selecting only the very best certified tree dogs out of a certain pure Mt. Cur bloodline. This is why they are know as the "thoroughbreds" of the cur dog world.
The Treeing Tennessee Brindle has a muddy origin, similar to other coon-dogs, that it initially shared with Stephens Stock and the Mountain View Cur. The breeds have all individualized enough to justify their own registering groups.
