The Mudhol Hound is native to the Deccan plateau of India where it was first introduced by Asian traders and merchants as an offshoot breed of the Saluki.

The Mudhol Hound is an Indian breed of dog of the sight hound type. The breed is also known as Caravan Hound and the feathered variety is commonly referred to as a Pashmi. In the villages he is known as the Karwani.

(Mudhol Hound, Maratha Hound, Pashmi Hound) The Caravan Hound is a slender breed of sighthound. Their head is narrow, long, and features a tapered muzzle with a large, dark nose.
