Norwich Terriers have a fairly long like expectancy and should live for 12 to 14 years. The Norwich is not prone to many serious inherited health concerns although cataracts are fairly common.

Norwich Terriers can live in almost all environments with very few restrictions. Wonderful with all people this breed makes a great family companion. Apartments, houses, or country farms will all be perfect places for them to live.

The Norwich Terrier is an assertive, happy, affectionate, spunky and loyal dog who loves your attention and will do just about anything to get it! He is sweet and devoted, and likes to cuddle and be close to you--but he is not a lapdog.

The Norwich Terrier is one of the smallest working terriers. It’s a spirited, stocky breed, with prick ears and an almost weatherproof coat.

The Norwich terrier, like the Norfolk, is a true terrier at heart, always ready for adventure and excitement. He is a hunter and may chase small animals.

The Norwich Terrier breed has to brushed and combed everyday. They can be easily taken care of. It is not necessary that you bathe them everyday. Minimal clippings should be given to them and their trim must be done by a professional groomer.

The Norfolk and Norwich Terriers began as one breed for ratting. Today, the Norfolk tends to be more jealous than the Norwich, have drooped ears and tend to be more angular than the Norwich.

The working terrier of East Anglia was developed in the 19th Century, but there wasn't much uniformity of type until 1923 when the dogs were given the name Norwich Terrier and accepted into the English Kennel Club.
