Polish Owczarek Nizinny: This breed is also known as the Polish Lowland Sheepdog (we find this much easier to pronounce!). PON's are a medium-sized dog, usually weighing between 35-55 lbs.

The Polish Owczarek Nizinny has a long wire-haired coat, with a soft under-layer. All coat colors are permitted, but white with grey or black, or plain grey are more common. The eyes are hazel or brown. The nose is dark.
The Polish Owczarek Nizinny probably came from Asian herding dogs that were working in Hungary thousands of years ago. While those dogs had a corded coat, this breed is shaggier like the herding dogs found in the rest of Europe.
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog, or Polish Owczarek Nizinny commonly referred as a PON, gained full AKC acceptance on August 1, 2001, its 147th breed. The PON needs early training and on through their second year.
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog, or PON (Polish Owczarek Nizinny), is partly descended from the Puli. Early in the history of Poland, other blood was crossed with the Puli, most likely the Huns herding dog.
The Polish Lowland Sheepdog breed is also called as the Polish Owczarek Nizinny. In the 13th century, this dog originated in Poland. They are really good companions and are used for guarding and herding the sheep and cattle.
