The breed can be seen as far back as the 17th century, though World War II almost brought about the extinction of the breed with great help, the Slovakian Chuvach is now recognized internationally.
Slovakian Chuvach protects his own rights, but never will disturb the rights of the others. This dog in most of the cases will not be aggressive with another dogs or people without a good reason.
