Staffordshire Bull Terriers are an easy breed to groom. Brushing is needed every day, but baths are only required when they are dirty. Exercise is essential to a happy and healthy Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers can boast a number of obedience degrees and are "quick studies," provided the trainer utilizes a positive, creative approach. Staffords are smart with a capital S.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a strong, devoted, courageous, intense, playful and deeply adoring dog. He does everything with power and gusto, whether playing, loving, or working for you.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier should not be confused with the American Staffordshire Terrier, or Pit Bull, which has been developed along quite different lines. The lovable Staffordshire or Staffy has a bloody history.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which has an average lifespan of 12 to 14 years, is susceptible to major health issues like canine hip dysplasia (CHD) and occasionally cataract. However, CHD rarely causes other symptoms or problems.
