History ...

(Tervuren, Chien de Berger Belge) The Belgian Tervuren is one of four types of Belgian Sheepdogs. The breed is slender, squarely proportioned, and strong. Their elegantly muscled bodies are strong and carried proudly, but they are not bulky or heavy.

The Tervuren is highly intelligent and requires mental stimulation in addition to physical exercise. Obedience tasks, having animals to herd or a family to guard will help keep this breed occupied.

The Tervuren needs strenuous activity, either a long walk or jog or an invigorating play or work session every day. He especially enjoys herding. His double coat needs brushing and combing twice weekly, more often when shedding.
