The Tibetan Terrier is a loving, sensitive, loyal, protective, fun and outgoing dog. He is extremely devoted to his family and becomes very attached to everyone in it.

The Tibetan Terrier is a cheerful, curly haired dog. Their dark-colored eyes are hard to see because of the long hair covering most of their face. Even their short muzzle is hidden by a beard which is usually a gray color on black Tibetan Terriers.

The Tibetan Terrier breed has something to do with the breeding of other Tibetan Dog Breeds. Tibetan monks bred them but never sold. They were just given to the royal houses as gifts. They are also called as the Holy Dog of Tibet.

The Tibetan Terrier has a double coat, comprising a dense, fine, slightly wavy or straight, and long outer coat and a wooly, soft undercoat, which offers it protection from the difficult Tibetan climate.

The Tibetan Terrier is an ancient breed, being from Tibet and being bred and raised by monks for perhaps 2000 years. They were considered a lucky dog and were given as gifts, but never sold because of superstition.
