Quitting something can mean:
You are tired or ready to move on in some area of your life (such as quitting your job could mean you're tired of your job, you're ready for a new job, or you're exploring how it would feel to quit in real life) ...
Quitting is rarely about quitting altogether, but rather not wanting to continue under the current circumstances. Quitting is often elective as well.
