Shake blended Scotch whisky, lemon juice and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a sour glass. Float claret on top. Garnish with half-slice of lemon and a cherry.

Rather light in flavour for a cheap Scotch, this is probably a good thing, and makes it relatively inoffensive (for a cheap Scotch).
Use less expensive blended Scotch whisky instead of top-shelf or single malt Scotch whisky.
