[for brandywine, from Du.,=burnt, i.e., distilled, wine], strong alcoholic spirit distilled from wine or from marc, the residue of the wine press.
Mix brandy, lemon juice, raspberry, and sugar syrup with cracked ice in a shaker or blender and pour into a chilled wine goblet and add additional cracked ice. Stir briskly until goblet is frosted. Fill with cold club soda and garnish with fruits.
Pour brandy into a highball glass over ice cubes. Fill with carbonated water, add the twist of lemon peel, stir gently, and serve. (Ginger ale may be substituted for carbonated water, if preferred.)
