Mix all ingredients, except club soda, ginger brandy, and lime slice, with cracked ice in a shaker or blender and pour into a chilled highball glass. Fill with club soda, stir gently, and top with float of ginger brandy. Garnish with lime slice.
Most common as ginger-flavored brandy - which is often incorrectly termed "ginger brandy".
