Add lemon rind to butter; cream well Add part of the sugar gradually, blending after each addition. Add remaining sugar, alternately with lemon juice, until right consistency to spread. Beat thoroughly after each addition. Add salt.
Combine wine, lemon rind, and juice. Stir in 1 cup of the sugar and let stand until sugar dissolves. Combine milk and cream, add wine mixture, and beat with a rotary beater until frothy.

Wet the edge of a cocktail glass with lemon and dip the rim into granulated sugar. Cut a lemon rind into a spiral and place it on the edge of the glass. Stir the ingredients and strain into the glass.
