In a large, heatproof pitcher dissolve the sugar in 1/4 cup boiling water. Add the lime zest and the lime juice and pulp, and stir in five cups of boiling water. Let the limeade cool; chill for two hours. Strain into tall, ice-filled glasses.

if you want to switch things up a bit, try drinking amaretto with limeade (like lemonade, only lime). i stumbled across this mix by accident, and have never gone back. it's incredible. :)
