Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. A drop or two of vanilla extract on the cream is an interesting garnish.

The original recipe is too strong for me, but through some experimenting I found a good combination was simply 1oz of Rum, Orgeat, Orange Curacao, and 0.5oz of bar syrup, shaken with crushed ice and strained into a double old-fashioned with cubes.
