Mai Tai translates from Tahitian to mean "Out of this World." A fitting description for this cocktail. The Mai Tai came to light in 1944 in Oakland's Trader Vic's.

1 part White Rum
2 parts pineapple juice
2 parts orange juice
1 part Dark Rum.
Blend and serve. Float Dark Rum on top.

Note: There are a few different recipes for the Mai Tai with the one consistent being the use of lots of rum.

Man...i love this recipe. I've had it printed out foreva, but I couldn't find it. I remembered everthing but the triple sec...not bad for a mai tai drinker eh?
Anyway, i was determined to find it again and I DID!!!! ...

Fill 1/3th of the glass with Tia Maria. Then pour smootly on a spoon the baileys so it flows on the Tai Maria. Then fill the glass up with Grand Marnier also with a spoon. Afterwards you see 3 layers, the middle layer looks like a after boming scene.
