SO, only a spanker would put vermouth in a cosmo. Cointreau is the best bet, but use triple-sec if you're cheap or desperate. Also, more like 2.5oz vodka, 1oz.Cointreau, and enough cran. to make it pink. Lime twist/wedge.

For sweet, use non-alcoholic sweet wine, apple or grape juice or balsamic vinegar. For dry, use non-alcoholic white wine, white grape juice or white wine vinegar.
Dry Vermouth
Glass type: Martini
Directions: Add Wet Gin and a few drops of Vermouth to a shaker filled with ice. Shake for 60 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a sliced pear.
Place vermouth, gin, juniper berries, pepper and salt in medium-large pan with tight-fitting lid. Bring to boil over high heat. Stir in prawns. Cover and steam for 1 minute. Remove lid and stir prawns.

Pour ingredients into a chilled highball glass with ice cubes, stir well and add lemon twist.

The Classic Martini recipes contains two parts gin and one part dry vermouth. The classic Extra Dry Martini recipes contains dry gin and just a dash of dry vermouth. The classic 'Gin & It' Martini recipes contains equal parts of gin and vermouth.
Martini 2 1/2 ounce gin 1/2 ounce dry vermouth Garnish: Lemon twist, or a green olive Stir with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. This is a 5-1 ratio Martini. An "extra-dry" martini can take this to such an extreme as to have no vermouth at all.
