Area of influence: Area surrounding a pumping or recharging well within which the water table or potentiometric surface has been changed due to the well's pumping or recharge. DIAGRAM ...
area of influence The area covered by the drawdown curves of a given pumping well or combination of wells at a particular time.
Well Interference: When the area of influence, or the cone of depression around a water well comes into contact with or overlaps that of a neighbouring well pumping from the same aquifer and thereby causes additional drawdown or drawdown interference ...
A conelike depression of the water table (or of a potentiometric surface of a confined aquifer) that is created in the vicinity of a well by pumping. The surface area included in the cone is known as the area of influence of the well.
an area where the water table dips down to form a cone shape. The shape of the cone is influenced by porosity and the water yield or pumping rate of the well. The land surface overlying the cone of depression is referred to as the area of influence.
