Attenuation
The process by which a compound is reduced in concentration over time, through absorption, adsorption, degradation, dilution, and/or transformation.

Attenuation: The noise reducing capacity of hearing protection devices.
Audiometric Evaluations: A chart, graph or table resulting from an audiometric test showing an individual's hearing threshold levels as a function of frequency.

Attenuation: The process of reduction of a compound's concentration over time. This can be through absorption, adsorption, degradation, dilution or transformation.

Attenuation -
(1) Generally, a term used to describe the slowing, modification, or diversion of the flow of water as with Detention and Retention.

Attenuation
The process by which a compound is reduced in concentration with distance and time through absorption, adsorption, degradation, dilution, diffusion, dispersion, and/or chemical or biological transformation.
Autochthonous ...

attenuation (in genetics)
Regulation of gene expression in bacteria by premature termination of transcription of a biosynthetic operon.

Attenuation
The process by which radiation is reduced in intensity when passing through some material. It is the combination of absorption and scattering processes.

Attenuation, Attenuate: The reduction or removal of groundwater constituents by the sum of all physical, chemical, and biological factors acting upon the groundwater.

Linear Attenuation Coefficient
The Linear Attenuation Coefficient is used in the description and calculation of exponential absorption of Gamma Rays .
