Bottom Ash The non-airborne combustion residue from burning pulverized coal in a boiler; the material which falls to the bottom of the boiler and is removed mechanically; a concentration of non-combustible materials, which may include toxics.
B bottom ash Definition (english only) Relatively coarse, non-combustible, generally toxic residue of incineration that accumulates on the grate of a furnace.
During combustion bottom ash is the ash that is left behind in, or under the grate or combustion region, or at the bottom of a gasifier. Fly ash consists of very small particles of ash that are carried out of the system along with the flue gases.
