This calculator assumes that you travel 3 miles to get to your destination. The calculator divides the car's emissions by the number of people you're carpooling with in order to figure out each individual's share of the emissions.
Whether it's airplanes, buses, ferries or trains, these transports often utilize renewable resources to reduce the environmental impact of traveling on them. They also serve as an alternative to carpooling.
