Degree-Day
A rough measure used to estimate the amount of heating required in a given area; is defined as the difference between the mean daily temperature and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

 


The number of degree-days between the highest and lowest points on the cumulative degree-days - time curve for one freezing season.
