Disturbance: Any event or series of events that disrupt ecosystem, community, or population structure and alters the physical environment.

disturbance This has several applications. It can apply to a low or cyclone that is small in size and influence. It can also apply to an area that is exhibiting signs of cyclonic development.

Disturbance of the soil prior to planting. Tillage tools such as chisels, field cultivators, disks, sweeps or blades are used. Weed control is accomplished with herbicides and/or cultivation.

A disturbance which appears either on the high-points of a coin or in the fields, as a result of that coin rubbing against other objects.

prevent disturbance to the electrical lines (causing dimming
and flickering of lights).
State. The agency of the State or Tribal government which ...

Ecological Disturbance. Ecological means related to ecology, which is the sum of the relationships between organisms and their environment.

porphyria
Disturbance of porphyrin metabolism characterized by increased formation, accumulation, and excretion of porphyrins and their precursors.

Patch dynamics The concept of communities as consisting of a mosaic of patches within which abiotic disturbances and biotic interactions proceed.

These disturbances include ozone depletion, acid rain and climate change. The atmosphere is the earth's life-support system and needs to be treated carefully.

When ecosystems are disturbed, the level of their functioning often changes as part of the adaptation to the disturbance.

Site and soil characteristics, combined with disturbances (human or natural) act to control the plant survival, health, density, and growth.

Noise: Any unwanted signal; a disturbance that is not part of signal from a specified source.

Since cold air underlies the warmer air at high altitudes, the air does not mix well which can lead to human health disturbances in people with respiratory illnesses such as asthma.

Ecological Integrity: A living system exhibits integrity if, when subjected to disturbance, it sustains and organizes self-correcting ability to recover toward a biomass end-state that is normal for that system.

Emissions not caught by a capture system which are often due to equipment leaks, evaporative processes and windblown disturbances.

These algae provide the coral with nutrients, and they’re responsible for the color of the coral. If a disturbance such as rising water temperature causes the algae to leave, corals will appear white (or bleached) and could eventually die.

Fugitive Emissions: Emissions not caught by a capture system which are often due to equipment leaks, evaporative processes and windblown disturbances.

Short-term exposures to high concentrations of benzene may result in death following depression of the central nervous system or fatal disturbances of heart rhythm.

Radiation. There are two types of radiation - ionising and nonionising. Nonionising radiation from the sun is essential although excess is dangerous. Exposure to all levels of ionising radiation causes complex disturbances in living tissues.

(e.g., blood, urine, breath) to estimate exposure, or to detect biochemical changes in the exposed subject before or during the onset of adverse health effects. Sometimes refers to a specific indicator for a particular disease/functional disturbance.

starters. Devices used to start up large motors gradually to avoid severe mechanical shock to a driven machine and to prevent disturbance to the electrical lines (causing dimming and flickering of lights).

will increase up to two per cent in the coming years and due to this agriculture output will be reduced, Flood and famine will become common feature in the coming days, due to higher temperature animals can't survive and it will lead to disturbance ...

to the dilution of the 14C/C ratio in atmospheric CO2 by the admixture of fossil-fuel produced CO2, but the definition has been extended to both the 14C and 13C ratios in any pool or reservoir of the carbon cycle resulting from human disturbances.

Coral Bleaching Coral reef bleaching is a stress response of corals to various environmental disturbances such as global warming and increased UV radiation due to ozone depletion.

Tropical disturbance:a cluster of thunderstorms that is beginning to rotate.
