Environmental Exposure: Human exposure to pollutants originating from facility emissions. Threshold levels are not necessarily surpassed, but low level chronic pollutant exposure is one of the most common forms of environmental exposure.

environmental exposure level (EEL)
Level (concentration or amount or a time integral of either) of a substance to which an organism or other component of the environment is exposed in its natural surroundings.

Interim Remedial Measure (IRM) An action taken at a contaminated site to reduce the chances of human or environmental exposure to site contaminants. Interim remedial measures are planned and carried out before comprehensive remedial studies.

Vector Control Refers to methods used to control and reduce environmental exposure to pests that can transmit disease pathogens to humans.Vehicle Emissions Air pollution produced by transport vehicles such as cars, buses and trucks.

A community located within the vicinity of numerous sites or facilities or other potential sources of environmental exposure/health hazards that may provide high levels of exposure to contaminants or pollutants.
