Epidemic
The high prevalence of a disease in a given area or environment. An epidemic that occurs over a wide geographical area, encompassing at least a few countries is called a pandemic.

 


Epidemic: Widespread outbreak of a disease.
Ergonomics: The study of people adjusting to their work environment; the science of adapting working conditions to the worker.

epidemic curve A histogram that shows the course of a disease outbreak or epidemic by plotting the number of cases by time of onset.
epidemic period A time period when the number of cases of disease reported is greater than expected.

epidemic : Widespread outbreak of a disease, or a large number of cases of a disease in a single community or relatively small area.

Epidemic: Sudden disease occurrence in numbers clearly in excess of normal expectancy.
Eukaryotic: A single-celled or multi-cellular organism whose cells contain a distinct membrane-bound nucleus.

sensitivity The ability of a system to detect epidemics and other changes in disease occurrence. The proportion of persons with disease who are correctly identified by a screening test or case definition as having disease.

Epidemic The outbreak of a disease which affects a large number and/or proportion of individuals in a population at the same time.
