Nitrogen Oxides or NOx
The generic term for various nitrogen emissions produced during combustion. Nitrogen oxides reportedly worsen asthma, react with oxygen in the air to produce ozone-which is also an irritant and pollutant.

 


Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) - Gases consisting of one molecule of nitrogen and varying numbers of oxygen molecules.

Nitrogen Oxides
Polluting gases formed from nitrogen. They are produced when fossil fuels are burnt.

A gas that has no colour or smell. There is a lot of it in the atmosphere and vital for life.

Particulate matter Any finely-divided airborne solid or liquid material with a diameter smaller than 100 micrometers while it is in the air.

Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) - A criteria air pollutant. Nitrogen oxides are produced from burning fuels, including gasoline and coal. Nitrogen oxides are smog formers, which react with volatile organic compounds to form smog.
