Paper products are the largest component of municipal solid waste, making up 31-38% of the composition of landfills in the United States.

In many ways, this activity can be compared to harvesting corn. These trees will be used for a diversity of products (hundreds) such as wood for homes, paper products, toothpaste, cosmetics, film and food products.

Post-Consumer- A term used to describe material that is being reused/recycled after it has been in the consumer's hands (e.g., a newspaper going back to the paper mill to be recycled into new recycled content paper products).

In the recycling business this term refers to products and materials, including newspapers, magazines, office papers, corrugated containers, bags and some paperboard packaging that can be recycled into new paper products.
