Perched water

Environment Perched aquiferPercolating water

Perched water table: Groundwater standing unprotected over a confined zone.
Percolating waters: Waters passing through the ground beneath the Earth's surface without a definite channel.

perched water table
A water table due to the ""perching"" of water on a relatively impermeable layer at some depth within the soil. The soil within or below the impermeable layer is not saturated with water.
percolation (of soil water) ...

Perched Water: Zone of unpressurized water held above the water table by impermeable rock or sediment.
Percolating Water: Water that passes through rocks or soil under the force of gravity.

Perched Water Table: A separate continuous body of groundwater lying (perched) above the main water table. Clay beds located within a sedimentary sequence, if of limited aerial extend, may have a shallow perched groundwater body overlying them.
