Environment Raw sewageReactivity

Raw water: Intake water before any treatment or use.
RCRA: Resource Conservation and Recovery Act - federal legislation requiring that hazardous waste be tracked from "cradle" (generation) to "grave" (disposal).

Raw Water: Intake water prior to any treatment or use.
Re-entry: In indoor air programs, refers to air exhausted from a building that is immediately brought back into the system through the air intake and other openings.

raw water main A water main which conveys untreated water from a source to a treatment facility.
raw water sample A water sample gathered prior to treatment of any kind.

RAW WATER: Untreated water.
RECLAIMED WATER: Water that is used more than one time before it passes back into the natural water cycle. Wastewater that has been treated to a level that allows for its reuse for a beneficial purpose.

RAW WATER
Surface or groundwater that is available as a source of drinking water but has not received any treatment.
RECHARGE AREA ...

raw water. 1) Water in its natural state, prior to any treat-
ment. 2) Usually the water entering the first treatment
process of a water treatment plant.

Term example: raw water
Definition: Natural water that is untreated.

Water purification is the removal of contaminants from raw water to produce drinking water that is pure enough for human consumption.

Transmission Lines: Pipelines that transport raw water from its source to a water treatment plant, then to the distribution grid system.
Trans-missivity: The ability of an aquifer to transmit water.

Slow Sand Filtration: Passage of raw water through a bed of sand at low velocity, resulting in substantial removal of chemical and biological contaminants.

Pipelines that transport raw water from its source to a water treatment plant.
Transmissivity
The ability of an aquifer to transmit water.
