Reformulated Gasoline - Specially refined gasoline with low levels of smog-forming volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants. The 1990 Clean Air Act requires sale of reformulated gasoline in the nine smoggiest areas in the U.
Reformulated Gasoline (RFG): Also called Cleaner Burning Gasoline (CBG). Gasoline with a different composition from conventional gasoline (e.g., lower aromatics content) that results in the production of lower levels of air pollutants.
clean fuel - fuels which have lower emissions than conventional gasoline and diesel. Refers to alternative fuels as well as to reformulated gasoline and diesel.
cleanup - treatment, remediation, or destruction of contaminated material.
