Storm sewer: A system of pipes (separate from sanitary sewers) that carry only water runoff from building and land surfaces.

 


storm sewer : A sewer that collects and transports surface runoff to a discharge point (infiltration basin, receiving stream, treatment plant).

Any discharge to a municipal separate storm sewer system that is not composed entirely of storm water, except for discharges allowed under an NPDES permit or waters used for certain emergency situations.
