Stormwater Runoff
Water originating form heavy rainfall or melted snow that enters the stormwater system.

Stormwater runoff treatment techniques that use natural measures to reduce pollution levels, do not require extensive construction efforts, and/or promote pollutant reduction by eliminating the pollutant source.
NON-SUPPORTING STREAM OR SUBWATERSHED ...

Stormwater Management - Water runs more quickly off hard surfaces than it does off unpaved surfaces, and when it runs over parking lots in particular it carries with it many pollutants.

Stormwater discharge: Precipitation that does not infiltrate into the ground or evaporate due to impervious land surfaces but instead flows onto adjacent land or water areas and is routed into drain/sewer systems.

stormwater harvesting = the process of the collection and re-use of rain water ...

Stormwater Runoff: Surface water that washed off land after a rainstorm. In developed watersheds it flows off roofs and pavements into storm drains which may feed directly into the stream; often carries concentrated pollutants.

urban runoff. Stormwater from city streets and adjacent domestic or commercial properties that may carry pollutants of various kinds into the sewer systems and/or receiving waters.

combined sewers A collection system that carries both sewage and stormwater runoff.

A pond to collect and temporarily store stormwater runoff. Pollutants are allowed to settle out, and the water is then gradually released to surface waters.
Evapotranspiration ...

A pit or trench filled with crushed rock and used to collect and divert stormwater or wastewater. Most often, perforated piping at the bottom provides easy drainage.
Fugitive emissions ...

Buffer - An area of vegetation positioned between a waterbody or watercourse and nearby development. Buffers are valuable for slowing the flow of stormwater into adjacent water resources and for retention and filtering of Non-point Source ...

Engineered Controls: Method of managing environmental and health risks by placing a barrier between the contamination and the rest of the site, thus limiting exposure pathways. These include, but are not limited to, stormwater conveyance systems, ...
