Suspension Culture
Cells growing in a liquid nutrient medium.

Suspension: Suspending the use of a pesticide when EPA deems it necessary to prevent an imminent hazard resulting from its continued use.

suspension 1) Dispersal of particulate matter within a fluid by some force that prevents deposition. 2) Suspending the use of a pesticide when deemed it necessary to prevent an imminent hazard resulting from its continued use.

Suspension Scaffolds: One or more platforms suspended by ropes or other non-rigid means from an overhead structure.

Re-suspension (of sediment)
The remixing of sediment particles and pollutants back into the water by storms, currents, organisms, and human activities, such as dredging.
Retention Time ...

Emergency Suspension: Suspension of a pesticide product registration due to an imminent hazard. The action immediately halts distribution, sale, and sometimes actual use of the pesticide involved.

Aerosol: A suspension of liquid or solid particles in a gas.
Affidavit: A written statement or declaration whose contents are sworn to be true by the signer before a notary or some other judicial officer authorized to take oaths.

aerosol: A suspension of liquid or solid particles in a gas.
aggregate: A mass or cluster of soil particles, often having a characteristic shape.

aerosol - a suspension of small liquid or solid particles in gas.
air pollution - toxic or radioactive gases or particulate matter introduced into the atmosphere, usually as a result of human activity.

Dust: An air suspension of particles (aerosol) of any solid material, usually with particle size less than 100 micrometers.

Ecology: The relationship of living things to one another and their environment.

Fluidization The suspension of particles by sufficient upward velocity of the fluid. During fluidization the gravity force is overcome by a combination of buoyancy and fluid friction.

Liquid particles in suspension that unite to create particles of a greater volume.
Coastal zone
Lands and waters near the coast, whose uses and ecology are affected by the sea.

bed load the part of the stream's load that is rolling and sliding along because it is too heavy to be carried by suspension
bedrock the parent rock from which stream substrate particles are formed.

Naturally Pure WaterH2O together with solid, liquid, and gaseous materials which it holds in solution or suspension as it exists in the earth in its natural conditions.

Do not let the suspension splatter.
Record your starting time .
At one-minute intervals, remove the weighing dish from the hot plate and reweigh it. Record your reading in the proper place on Data Table 2B.2.

A A mineral horizon formed at or near the surface in the zone of removal of materiais in solution and suspension, or maximum in situ accumulation of organic carbon, or both. B A mineral horizon characterized by one or more of the following: ...

Deflocculating Agent- A material added to a suspension to prevent settling.
Defluoridation- The removal of excess flouride in drinking water to prevent the staining of teeth.
Defoliant- An herbicide that removes leaves from trees and growing plants.

Colloids: Fine-grained material in suspension. Specifically refers to a particle-size range of less than 0.00024 mm.
Colluvial Deposits: Weathered, unconsolidated materials transported and deposited by gravity.

Turbid: Thick or opaque with matter in suspension. Rivers and lakes may become turbid after a rainfall.
Turbidity: Cloudiness caused by the presence of suspended solids in water; an indicator of water quality.

Random motion of particle in a suspension of water of gas.
Buffer Strips
A vegetative barrier between waterways and land that is designed to prevent sediment loss from surface runoff.

Artificially formed lipid droplet, small enough to form a relatively stable suspension in aqueous media, useful in membrane transport studies and in drug delivery.
Lipid droplet in the endoplasmic reticulum of a fatty liver.

Prophylactic vaccination: Vaccination performed to prevent infectious diseases. Suspension of attenuated or killed viruses or bacteria or parts thereof that is capable of producing a protective immune response to such infectious agents.

Leachate: Liquids that have percolated through a soil and that carry substances in solution or suspension.

slurry (SLUR-e). A watery mixture or suspension of insoluble (not dissolved) matter; a thin watery mud or any substance resembling it (such as a grit slurry or a lime slurry).
