Total Dissolved Solids: All material that passes the standard glass river filter; now called total filterable residue. Term is used to reflect salinity.

Total dissolved solids (TDS): The sum or all inorganic and organic particulate material. TDS is an indicator test used for wastewater analysis and is also a measure of the mineral content of bottled water and groundwater.

total dissolved solids (TDS) All of the dissolved solids in a water. TDS is measured on a sample of water that has passed through a very fine mesh filter to remove suspended solids.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): concentration of all substances dissolved in water (solids remaining after evaporation of a water sample).

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS): Concentration of total dissolved solids (TDS) in groundwater expressed in milligrams per litre (mg/L), is found by evaporating a measured volume of filtered sample to dryness and weighing this dry solid residue.

Total dissolved solids (TDS) is the amount of dissolved matter in the water.

Total solids (TS) is the amount of organic and inorganic matter which is contained in a water.

Total Dissolved Solids. The weight per unit volume of water of suspended solids in a filter media after filtration or evaporation. Please use also our information about TDS and conductivity.

TDS: Total dissolved solids. A quantitative measure of the residual minerals dissolved in water that remain after evaporation of a solution. Usually expressed in milligrams per liter.

TDS See total dissolved solids. tertiary treatment An advanced stage of wastewater treatment designed to remove nutrients or other constituents remaining after secondary treatment.

TDS total dissolved solids; filterable residue; usually expressed as g/liter or mg/liter following evaporation of a measured sample of filtered water

Aquifers currently being used as a source of drinking water or those capable of supplying a public water system. They have a total dissolved solids content of 10,000 milligrams per litre or less, and are not "exempted aquifers.
