Black stone

Black Stone (al-hajar, al-aswad) is a stone believed to be of meteoric origin. Its composition is thought to be of lava or basalt; it is reddish in color, and is embedded in the eastern corner of the Ka'ba in Mecca.

155. "Of shining black stone, sir; but the great flight of steps in front looked all red, like fire, because of the sun shining it."
156. "But how could you see all this when you were inside, boy?" ...

Chief among these is the one concerning the famous black stone in the seat of the coronation chair in Westminster Abbey, which is declared to be the actual rock used by Jacob as a pillow.

Some have thought by a black stone was signified the invisibility of the divine essence.

7. There shall be a fair altar in the midst, extended upon a black stone.
8. At the head of the altar gold, and twin images in green of the Master.
9. In the midst a cup of green wine.

7) On another world plane
that blue-black stone
transformed itself into red coral.---Oh Mother
All became fruitful.

Its only remnant on earth is the Black Stone in the Holy Kaaba: it used to be white like the Palace it came from but has been clouded over blackened by the sins of mankind. It has been left on earth for the sake of remembrance.
