DIVINE POWER OF LETTERS.
UThe sacred significance of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet is paralleled by that attached to those of the Sanskrit alphabet as used in the Sacred Writings of India.
To tap divine power, magicians used various biblical names and titles of God in their incantations, including El, Elohim and Eloa ("the god"), Adonai ("the Lord"), Sabaoth ("Lord of Hosts") and Shaddai ("the Almighty").
