Fool's Journey

Modern interpreters sometimes refer to the Tarot majors as the Fool's Journey. The 21 images of the trumps are seen as stages in a psychological or mystical journey and the Fool is seen as the pilgrim.

The Heart of the Knight-King. The all-pervasive, free-ranging Spirit. It unifies every atom of consciousness/life into One Gestalt Consciousness/Life. The underlying spiritual connection that exists between all things.
A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees.

The twenty-second card, the Fool, numbered 0, is analogous to the modern joker. In fortunetelling, either the full pack or the Major Arcana alone is used.
