Great Rite
A powerful, magic rite of sexual intercourse, in neo-Pagan Witchcraft and neo-Paganism, which pays homage to the male/female polarity that exists in all things within the universe.
Here sexual union takes on the grandeur of a great rite (Yajña) compared with which the ordinary mere animal copulation to ease desire, whether done grossly, shamefacedly, or with flippant gallantry is base.
This then is the Ancient and Accepted Rite; a great Rite undoubtedly, which is full of mystical lore, and sets out to show its members that the quest of the lost word ends, not at the Temple at Jerusalem, but on Mount Calvary.

In , Sex Magic is practised in the form of the Great Rite. As the hieros gamos ("Marriage of the Gods") in the Greek mysteries it is both "intercourse" magic and "gender" magic.
