Levi plotted with others against Joseph. He went into Egypt with his three sons Gerrshon, Kohath, and Merari, as one of the eldest, and was presented to the Pharaoh.

 


Eliphas Levi
1810-75
The French occultist, Eliphas Levi, was born Alphonse-Louis Constant in Paris in 1810, adopting the name by which he is better known (a Judaized version of his forenames) in 1845.

Levi gave a description of the ritual. He progressively grew colder as he proceeded deeper into the ritual. After some twelve hours the floor beneath him began to shake. He saw an apparition in one of the mirrors. He asked the ghost to appear.

Judah Ha-Levi (1085?-1140)
Spanish Jewish rabbi who was also a physician, a poet, and a celebrated Hebrew theologian and mystic.
