Mars (Greek Ares)
1. Roman god of war, Greek Ares. Before being associated with Ares, Mars was principally an agricultural god in Roman mythology. Ares was mainly worshipped in Thracia, a region of Greece known for its fierce people.
Mars, after Jupiter, was the most important deity in the Roman pantheon, and was worshipped throughout central and southern Italy. His probable origin was as a vegetation god. He was the son of Jupiter and Juno; his Greek counterpart is Ares.
Face on Mars : is a theory of a face on mars, constructed by some unknown civilisation. This idea has been a subject of debate and wonder for almost 25 years. In 1976 the Viking Orbiter sent back an image from the Cydonia region of Mars.
Mars
Mars is the planet of action and the expression of will through activity. A heavily afflicted Mars in a natal chart may give the subject impulsive or violent tendencies.

To Mars, the ancient plane of cosmic energy, the Atlantean and Chaldean "star gazers" assigned Aries as a diurnal throne and Scorpio as a nocturnal throne.
Mars rules the box tree, hawthorn, broom, buckthorn, dock, garlic, horehound, hemp, hops, mustard and wormwood. The mineral influences by the same planet are iron, antimony, arsenic, and sulfur.

Mars "was worshipped at Rome as the god of war, and war itself was frequently designated by the name of Mars." * Similarly Venus signifies love. The armour of war shall call for love.
Mars, thus invoked, is indeed capable of victory: but he has already lost the controlled wisdom of age; in a moment of conquest he wastes the fruits of it, in the arms of luxury.
Mars in Aries and Scorpio is particularly effective, showing a very ugly knight in chain mail with a scorpion in his hand, seated on a ram.
Step 5 - Mars
The fifth masculine step is the letter o (omicron) connecting Power to Glory and attributed to Mars. It is the fifth chakra to be activated and is of particular significance to the man who seeks to be wounded - the warrior.

The climax of Price's experiments came on 25 May, as a close Jupiter/Saturn conjunction opposed a close Mars/Uranus conjunction (SA OPP UR 2ø), an image of cosmic tension, while Sun-conjunct-Mercury completed a grand trine with Neptune and Pluto.
45 Marte (Mars) card from the Mantegna cards seems directly related. In the Rothschild Tarot (late fifteenth century or early sixteenth) at the Louvre in Paris, the Chariot shows a male figure with winged helmet on a raised platform.
The Life and Head lines begin above the Plain of Mars and move downwards across the palm, but the planetary lines begin near the wrist and move toward the fingers.
The Fire of Mars seems more akin to this second kind. Mars or Ares was the son of Hera, in origin an Earth goddess. Ares was conceived as an act of vengeance against celestial Father Zeus without his aid.
It is a five-pointed star, and as such, it is not only a symbol of Man dominating and controlling the elements, but it is a symbol of Mars, attributed to Geburah or "Severity" by the Qabalists, the fifth emanation upon the Tree of Life.
She was the goddess of women and fertility. Juno's symbols were a pomegranate and a peacock. Mars, the god of war, was another main god. After Jupiter, Mars was the strongest and most powerful god. The goddess of love and beauty was Venus.
