Mysticism
The term "mysticism" is used in several different contexts. On the one hand, anything out of the ordinary - e.g. UFOs or paranormal perception, are considered part of the "mystical and unexplained.".

 


Mysticism
Mysticism is a term that tends to be very loosely used; and so it will be as well to state at the beginning what it is not.

Mysticism
This is a belief in or the pursuit in the unification with the One or some other principle; the immediate consciousness of God; or the direct experience of religious truth.

What we have here is a false syllogism: some mystics write, therefore mysticism consists only in writing.

Mysticism
A Mystic may be said to be one who has a spiritual awareness of the existence of inner and more evolved worlds, or planes of being, and who strives for conscious awareness of, and communication with, these worlds and their inhabitants.

Mysticism. Any doctrine involved in mystery and metaphysics, and dealing more with the ideal worlds than with our matter-of-fact, actual universe.
